Dr. Maria Ivanytska

Biography

Graduated in German language and literary studies in Chernivtsi. She worked as a German teacher at the University in Chernivtsi and researched within different scholarships inVienna, Düsseldorf, Berlin, Tübingen. In 1994, she earned a doctorate in German studies. Since 2000, she has been employed at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and is an Associate Professor at the Department of Translation from German. She was initiator and coordinator of the DAAD-Project “Studentische Selbstverwaltung im Vergleich” (2010, https://kops.ub.uni-konstanz.de/xmlui/handle/urn:nbn:de:bsz:352-129419), coordinator of the international summer school “To Discover the Ukrainian Culture” with university ofGraz (2011), member and coordinator of workshops for translators. Her research interest lies in the field of the translation studies – 2011-2014: Postdoctoral research (Habilitation), the issue “Language Personality of the Literature Translator in Ukrainian-German Context”. Maria Ivanytska is the author of 68 academic articles (translation studies, cultural studies, German Literature in the Bukovina, German-Ukrainian Literature contacts; she translates from German into Ukrainian (P.Turini, J. Hermann, A.Hiling, E. Hummel, F.Werfel). She participated in 37 scientific conferences. From 2013, she is the coordinator of the project EU-Project for jung translators and future cultural mediators “TransStar”.
